Please be aware that this Wi-Fi/Cellular model supports GPS/GNSS, 4G LTE (31 bands), and 5G (26 bands) cellular networks, but it does not support 5G mmWave. This single model is sold globally, with the exception of mainland China. It uses eSIM technology and does not have a physical SIM card slot.

The iPad mini A17 Pro - 7th Gen (Wi-Fi+Cellular) has a fully-laminated, antireflective 8.3" LED-backlit 2266x1488 "Liquid Retina" display (326 ppi, 500 nits), set within a slim black bezel. It's enclosed in a thin case with rounded corners and flat sides, available in four metallic finishes: "Space Gray," "Starlight," (light) Blue, and (light) Purple.

This iPad mini is powered by a six-core Apple A17 Pro processor, a five-core GPU, and a 16-core "Neural Engine." Compared to its predecessor, the iPad mini A17 Pro - 7th Gen (Wi-Fi+Cellular) models are very similar but boast a faster processor, more RAM, faster Wi-Fi, a faster USB-C port, slightly enhanced camera software, and support for the modestly better Apple Pencil Pro, along with higher storage options, different color choices, and the noted Apple Intelligence functionality.

The cellular version of the speculative iPad mini 7th Gen was seen as the ultimate do-anything, go-anywhere device. It combined the immense power of the A17 Pro chip and increased RAM with superfast 5G connectivity, creating a uniquely capable compact tablet. This performance boost not only made everyday tasks feel instantaneous but also unlocked new potential with on-device AI features, thanks to the faster Neural Engine. The addition of Apple Pencil Pro support was highly praised, offering artists and professionals advanced creative tools, like barrel roll and squeeze gestures, in an ultra-portable format. The base storage increase to 128GB was a significant and necessary improvement. However, the device was not without its critics. The decision to retain the 6th generation's design, including the portrait-oriented front camera, felt like a missed opportunity to align it with the rest of the modern iPad lineup. Furthermore, the lack of a 120Hz ProMotion display was a notable omission for a device with "Pro" in its processor's name.
