All iPad 10th Gen models, including this Wi-Fi only configuration, are essentially a more affordable, slower, and less-equipped version of the iPad Air (5th Gen).

The iPad 10th Gen (Wi-Fi Only) features a 10.9" LED-backlit 2360x1640 "Liquid Retina" display (264 ppi, 500 nits) with True Tone support, but it lacks Wide-color (P3) and ProMotion capabilities. The display is framed by a thin black bezel and housed in a slim case with rounded corners and flat sides, available in silver, blue, yellow, or pink.

This iPad is powered by a six-core Apple A14 Bionic processor, a 4-core GPU, and a 16-core "Neural Engine." It has 4 GB of RAM and is available with either 64 GB or 256 GB of flash storage. It also includes a "Touch ID" sensor in the top button, awkward support for the original Apple Pencil (A1603, MK0C2AM/A) via a USB-C adapter, and a "Smart Connector" for the size-specific Apple Magic Keyboard Folio (MQDP3LL/A).

The iPad (10th Gen) has a landscape front-mounted 12-megapixel "Ultra Wide" camera that shoots up to 1080p video with "Center Stage" technology, and a rear 12-megapixel "Wide" camera that shoots up to 4K video.

Other features include dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with HT80 with MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, and stereo speakers. A USB-C port provides power and connectivity.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours of "surfing the web on Wi-Fi or watching video."

The 10th generation iPad received a mixed but generally positive evaluation, praised for its long-overdue modern redesign but criticized for some awkward compromises. The new all-screen design with flat edges, vibrant color options, and a larger 10.9-inch display was a huge visual improvement. Moving the front camera to the landscape edge was a universally applauded change that made video calls much better. The A14 Bionic chip provided solid, snappy performance for everyday tasks, and the switch to USB-C was a welcome modernization. However, the device was widely criticized for its Apple Pencil situation; it only supported the 1st generation Pencil, which now required a clumsy and easy-to-lose dongle to charge and pair. The display was also not laminated, a step down from the iPad Air. Despite these odd decisions and a higher starting price, it was considered a great tablet for general media consumption and family use.
