PowerBook 17-Inch 1.67 GHz 2005

The PowerBook G4/1.67 17" (Al) featured a 1.67 GHz PowerPC 7447a (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" and 512k on-chip L2 cache. It was configured with 512 MB of PC2700 DDR SDRAM, a 100 GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drive (5400 RPM), and a slot-loading 8X "SuperDrive." It included a Firewire "800" port, built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, AirPort Extreme (802.11g), and an ambient light sensor keyboard. Graphics were handled by an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128 MB of DDR SDRAM, driving a 17" widescreen TFT display (1440x900). This model offered numerous upgrades over its 1.5 GHz predecessor, including a faster processor, improved graphics, a more capable optical drive, a brighter keyboard, a faster hard drive with "Sudden Motion Sensor" technology, a "Scrolling Trackpad," and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

This model was celebrated as the definitive mobile workstation of its time, combining the largest screen with top-tier performance. The 1.67 GHz processor and 128 MB of VRAM provided ample power for the most demanding professional workflows.
