Even smaller than their predecessor Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen), the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) models are fanless, faster, and add support for HDR10+. This Wi-Fi Only model (A2737) drops the Ethernet port and Thread networking support, though.

The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen, 2022, Wi-Fi Only) is powered by a five core Apple A15 Bionic processor, has 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal flash memory storage.

Connectivity includes HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2x2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.0.

The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) models ship with a new USB-C equipped "Siri Remote" (A2854, EMC 8220). It has a touch-enabled "clickpad control that offers five-way navigation" and an outer ring that works as a "jog control" for quick scene selection. It also has a microphone for use with Siri, too. In a particularly miserly omission, though, a necessary USB-C charging cable is not included.

This model was positioned as the new entry-level for the 4K experience, making a strategic trade-off by removing the Ethernet port and Thread support for a lower price point. [41] It was praised for its smaller, fanless design and the significant performance boost from the A15 Bionic chip, which made navigating the interface and loading content incredibly fast. [21, 37] The addition of HDR10+ support broadened its appeal to owners of compatible TVs. [39] For users with strong Wi-Fi, it offered nearly the full premium Apple TV experience, but the lack of a wired connection was a deal-breaker for some who prioritized network stability.
