This iPad Air is powered by a six-core Apple A14 Bionic processor and a 16-core "Neural Engine," with 4 GB of RAM and either 64 GB or 256 GB of flash storage. Key features include a "Touch ID" sensor in the top button and support for the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen (A2051, MU8F2AM/A, US$129), which charges magnetically. It has a front 7-megapixel "FaceTime HD" camera for up to 1080p video and a rear 12-megapixel camera for up to 4K video.

Compared to its predecessor, the iPad Air 4th Gen (Wi-Fi Only) and its cellular counterparts are a significant upgrade, sharing more with the high-end iPad Pro. They are physically smaller but have a larger display, a more powerful architecture, advanced keyboard support, USB-C, and support for the advanced Apple Pencil 2nd Gen and top-button "Touch ID" sensor.
