In comparison to its forerunner, the iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (Wi-Fi/Cellular - 2nd Gen)—and its Wi-Fi-only equivalent—are essentially the same in physical size but feature a higher-quality display, superior cameras, and faster performance.
Both 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd Gen) devices come with a fully-laminated, antireflective 12.9-inch LED-backlit 2732x2048 (264 ppi, DCI-P3 color gamut) touch-sensitive "Retina" display. These models introduced "ProMotion technology," offering a 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother animations and lower latency with the Apple Pencil.
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd Gen) models are equipped with an Apple A10X processor, 4 GB of RAM, and are available with 64 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of flash storage. They come in Black and Space Gray, White and Silver, or White and Gold cases.
Other key features include dual cameras: a rear 12-megapixel "iSight" camera for stills and 4K video, and a front 7-megapixel "FaceTime HD" camera for stills and 1080p HD video. They also support dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with HT80 with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, dual microphones, and two sets of stereo speakers.
A Lightning port provides power and computer connectivity. A "Smart Connector" is included for a size-specific Apple Smart Keyboard. Additional input is available via the optional "Apple Pencil" (A1603, MK0C2AM/A, US$99), which offers pressure-sensitive drawing capabilities.
Battery life is rated at 10 hours of "surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music" and nine hours on cellular data.
This Wi-Fi/Cellular 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd Gen) includes A-GPS and supports LTE Advanced (Bands 1-5, 7, 8, 11-13, 17-21, 25-30, 38-41). It has an "Embedded Apple SIM" for switching between carriers like T-Mobile in the US, plus a nano SIM slot for traditional SIM cards.
