The iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (Wi-Fi Only - 6th Gen) is equipped with a fully-laminated, antireflective 12.9" mini-LED backlit 2732x2048 "Liquid Retina XDR" display, featuring a 2D backlighting system, 264 ppi, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It is framed by a thin black bezel and housed in a slim case with rounded corners and flat sides, available in either silver or a darker "Space Gray" finish.

This iPad Pro is powered by a 3.49 GHz Apple M2 processor with 8 cores (4 performance, 4 efficiency), a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and 100 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Models with 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of storage have 8 GB of RAM, while 1 TB or 2 TB models have 16 GB. It also features a Thunderbolt / USB 4 port.

Like their predecessors, the iPad Pro 12.9" (6th Gen) models support LiDAR, external keyboards and trackpads, and the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen (A2051, MU8F2AM/A, US$129), which now adds a "Hover" feature to preview the pencil's landing spot. The front 12-megapixel "TrueDepth" camera supports "Center Stage" and "Face ID," while the dual rear camera has 12-megapixel wide and 10-megapixel ultra-wide lenses.

Connectivity includes Thunderbolt / USB 4, simultaneous dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) with 2x2 MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.3. It also has five microphones and a four-speaker system.

The battery life is rated for up to 10 hours of "surfing the web on Wi-Fi or watching video."

Compared to its predecessor, the iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (Wi-Fi Only - 6th Gen) and its cellular-equipped siblings have the same physical size, display, and cameras, but feature a faster processor and architecture, faster Wi-Fi, more advanced Bluetooth, ProRes video capture, and the new Apple Pencil "Hover" feature.

The 6th generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi was seen as a powerful, yet incremental, enhancement of its predecessor. The headline upgrade was the M2 chip, which delivered even faster CPU and GPU performance, further solidifying the iPad Pro's status as a computational powerhouse that rivaled traditional laptops. A unique and highly praised new feature was Apple Pencil Hover, which allowed the display to detect the Pencil's tip before it made contact, offering a new level of precision for artists and designers. The device also gained support for the faster Wi-Fi 6E standard and ProRes video capture. However, with the same design, excellent mini-LED XDR display, and camera system as the M1 model, it was generally considered a minor refresh. For those already owning the 5th generation model, there was little compelling reason to upgrade, but for new buyers, it represented the absolute zenith of tablet hardware and performance.
