It is important to know that this A2766 iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (6th Gen), sold exclusively in mainland China, supports 5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n14, n20, n25, n26, n28, n29, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n70, n71, n77, n78, and n79, but not 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. This model does not support eSIM.

The iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (Wi-Fi/Cellular China - 6th Gen) has a fully-laminated, antireflective 12.9" mini-LED backlit 2732x2048 "Liquid Retina XDR" display (2D backlighting system, 264 ppi, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio). It is framed by a thin black bezel and housed in a slim case with rounded corners and flat sides, available in either silver or "Space Gray."

This iPad Pro is powered by a 3.49 GHz Apple M2 processor with 8 cores (4 performance, 4 efficiency), a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and 100 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Models with 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of storage have 8 GB of RAM, while 1 TB or 2 TB models have 16 GB. It also includes a Thunderbolt / USB 4 port.

Like their predecessors, the iPad Pro 12.9" (6th Gen) models support LiDAR, external keyboards and trackpads, and the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen (A2051, MU8F2AM/A, US$129), which now adds a "Hover" feature. The front 12-megapixel "TrueDepth" camera supports "Center Stage" and "Face ID," while the dual rear camera has 12-megapixel wide and 10-megapixel ultra-wide lenses.

Connectivity includes 5G, Thunderbolt / USB 4, dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) with 2x2 MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.3. It has five microphones and a four-speaker system. Battery life is rated at 10 hours for Wi-Fi web surfing or video, and 9 hours on cellular data. This model has a nano-SIM slot but does not support eSIM.

Compared to its predecessor, this iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (6th Gen) model and its siblings maintain the same physical size, display, and cameras but offer a faster processor and architecture, faster Wi-Fi, more advanced Bluetooth, ProRes video capture, and the new Apple Pencil "Hover" feature.

The 6th generation iPad Pro 12.9-inch for the China market (A2766) was recognized as an exceptionally powerful and refined tablet. The upgrade to the M2 chip provided a notable increase in speed and graphics capability, ensuring smooth performance for even the most demanding professional applications. A highlight of this generation was the Apple Pencil Hover feature, which offered artists and designers a new level of precision by showing a preview of their mark. This model provided robust 5G and LTE connectivity tailored for Chinese networks. However, the update was largely iterative, as it retained the same highly-praised mini-LED XDR display, camera system, and industrial design as its predecessor. While it was an easy recommendation for new professional buyers in China, it didn't present a compelling reason for existing M1 Pro users to upgrade. It stood as the most powerful large-format tablet available in the region.
