MacBook Pro 2019 13" (Touch Bar, 2 TB 3)

The MacBook Pro "Core i5" 1.4 13-Inch (2019, Touch Bar, Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports) is powered by a 14 nm, 8th Generation "Coffee Lake" 1.4 GHz Intel "Core i5" processor (I5-8257U). This CPU has four independent cores on a single chip, 128 MB of eDRAM embedded on the processor die, and a 6 MB shared level 3 cache. This notebook comes with 8 GB of onboard 2133 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (upgradeable to 16 GB at purchase, but not afterwards), either 128 GB or 256 GB of flash storage, and an integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 processor that shares system memory.

Externally, this notebook features an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a revised "third generation" butterfly mechanism keyboard. This keyboard includes an integrated "Touch Bar" with a touch-sensitive control that adapts to different applications and provides Touch ID login support, replacing traditional function keys. It also has a large "Force Touch" trackpad.

Additionally, it boasts a high-resolution, LED-backlit 13.3-inch widescreen 2560x1600 (227 ppi, 500 nits) "Retina" display with True Tone technology and an integrated battery providing an estimated 10 hours of runtime.

This notebook was available in silver or a darker "Space Gray" aluminum housing and weighs slightly over 3 pounds (1.37 kg). Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, two "Thunderbolt 3" ports (USB-C), and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Compared to its much older predecessor, this model offers a faster processor, architecture, and graphics. It also features a tweaked butterfly keyboard with different materials for better reliability, and adds the T2 security chip, Touch ID, and Touch Bar, while losing the traditional function keys.

Introduced in 2019, this entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro offered a more modern user experience with the inclusion of the Touch Bar and Touch ID. Its 8th generation quad-core Core i5 processor smoothly handled everything from daily routines to slightly more demanding tasks, providing sufficient performance for many users. The keyboard was updated to the third-generation butterfly mechanism, aiming for improved reliability. Security was also enhanced with the integration of the T2 security chip.
