Referred to by Apple as a "Mac mini enclosure" with an "A12Z SoC," the Apple Developer Transition Kit was a loaner device for registered Apple developers. It was intended for creating and testing applications for Apple's upcoming ARM-based "Apple Silicon" Mac series.
The Mac mini Developer Transition Kit (DTK) is powered by an Apple A12Z Bionic processor, featuring eight cores on a single chip and 8 MB of L2 cache. It includes 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD, both of which are integrated onto the main board.
Connectivity options consist of two USB-C ports, two USB 3.0 (USB-A) ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0.
Although it shares a nearly identical appearance with earlier Mac mini models, its internal architecture is entirely different, bearing more resemblance to the Wi-Fi only versions of the 2020 iPad Pro models.
