iMac PowerPC 7445 (G4) 2003

The Apple iMac G4/1.25 20-Inch (Flat Panel) is equipped with a 1.25 GHz PowerPC 7445 (G4) processor, featuring the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and a 256k on-chip level 2 cache. It includes 256 MB of RAM (333 MHz PC2700 DDR SDRAM), an 80.0 GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drive (7200 RPM), a tray-loading 4X "SuperDrive", and NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra graphics with 64 MB of DDR SDRAM (AGP 4X support). Optional cards provide support for AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth.

The internal components are housed in a stylish 10.6-inch half-sphere, ice-white case, with a chromed stainless steel neck that supports a 20" TFT Active Matrix LCD display (1680x1050 native). This model was shipped with MacOS X 10.3 "Panther" (and is unable to boot into MacOS 9), along with an ice-white Apple Pro Keyboard, Mouse, and Speakers. Unlike earlier convection-cooled iMacs, the iMac "Flat Panel" series is cooled by a quiet internal fan.

Featuring a massive 20-inch display, which was exceptionally large for its time, this model stood at the pinnacle of the iMac G4 series. Its vast workspace earned high praise even from professional creators and became an object of aspiration for many users.
