MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 15"

The MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.0 15-Inch (Integrated Graphics/Iris Only - Late 2013 Retina Display) is powered by a 22 nm "Haswell/Crystalwell" 2.0 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (4750HQ). It features four independent cores on a single chip, a 6 MB shared L3 cache, 8 GB of onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (upgradable to 16 GB at purchase, but not later), and 256 GB of PCIe-based flash storage. Graphics are handled by an integrated Intel Iris 5200 Pro processor with 128 MB of "Crystalwell" embedded DRAM and shared system memory. It also includes an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a high-resolution 15.4-inch LED-backlit widescreen 2880x1800 (220 ppi) "Retina" display, all in a chassis weighing just under 4.5 pounds (2.02 kg). It does not have an internal optical drive.

Connectivity consists of 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two "Thunderbolt 2" ports, an HDMI port, an audio in/out port, and an SDXC card slot.

Additionally, this model has a backlit keyboard, a "no button" glass "inertial" multi-touch trackpad, a "MagSafe 2" power adapter, and a sealed internal battery providing an estimated 8 hours of life.

Compared to its predecessor, this model has a virtually identical external enclosure but features a more efficient processor and architecture, which improves battery life, as well as faster storage, Wi-Fi, and connectivity.

The entry-level Late 2013 15-inch MacBook Pro was notable for relying solely on the integrated Intel Iris Pro 5200 graphics. While this made it more affordable, the graphics performance was a step down from the dual-graphics model and a point of consideration for visually intensive tasks. However, the quad-core Haswell processor still provided robust CPU performance, and the move to faster PCIe-based flash storage significantly improved overall system responsiveness.
