The MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.3 15-Inch (Integrated Graphics/Iris Only - Late 2013 Retina Display) is a "configure-to-order" version of the 2.0 15-Inch model, documented separately for clarity. Besides the processor, these models are identical. Note that this model should not be confused with the standard dual-graphics version.

This MacBook Pro is powered by a 22 nm "Haswell/Crystalwell" 2.3 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (4850HQ), with four independent cores on a single chip, a 6 MB shared L3 cache, and 8 GB of onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (upgradable to 16 GB only at purchase). It includes 256 GB of PCIe-based flash storage and an integrated Intel Iris 5200 Pro graphics processor with 128 MB of "Crystalwell" embedded DRAM and shared system memory. It also has a 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a high-resolution 15.4-inch LED-backlit widescreen 2880x1800 (220 ppi) "Retina" display in a chassis weighing just under 4.5 pounds (2.02 kg). It lacks an internal optical drive.

Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two "Thunderbolt 2" ports, an HDMI port, an audio in/out port, and an SDXC card slot. Additionally, this model has a backlit keyboard, a "no button" glass "inertial" multi-touch trackpad, a "MagSafe 2" power adapter, and a sealed internal battery with an estimated 8-hour life. Compared to its predecessor, it has a nearly identical external enclosure but a more efficient processor and architecture, resulting in better battery life, faster storage, Wi-Fi, and connectivity.

This configure-to-order variant of the Late 2013 15-inch MacBook Pro offered a faster 2.3 GHz Core i7 processor while still relying on the integrated Iris Pro 5200 graphics. It represented a middle ground, providing more CPU power than the base model without the added cost and power consumption of the discrete NVIDIA GPU. The machine benefited from all the generational improvements: outstanding battery life thanks to the Haswell architecture, exceptionally fast PCIe storage, and updated connectivity with Thunderbolt 2. For users whose workflows were more CPU-intensive than GPU-intensive, this model presented an excellent and efficient high-performance option, maintaining a superb balance of power and longevity.
