The MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.8 13-Inch (Late 2013 Retina Display) was initially a "configure-to-order" option for both the 2.4 and 2.6 13-Inch models but was later sold as a standard configuration. The primary difference from its lower-end siblings is the processor and its larger L3 cache.
This model features a 22 nm "Haswell" 2.8 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (4558U) with dual independent cores, a 4 MB shared L3 cache, and 4 GB or 8 GB of non-upgradable onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (a 16 GB option was available at purchase). It includes 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of PCIe-based flash storage (the standard ME867LL/A configuration had 8 GB RAM and 512 GB storage) and an integrated Intel Iris 5100 graphics processor sharing system memory. It also has a 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a high-resolution 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen 2560x1600 (227 ppi) "Retina" display in a chassis weighing just under 3.5 pounds (1.57 kg). It lacks an internal optical drive.
Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two "Thunderbolt 2" ports, an HDMI port, an audio in/out port, and an SDXC card slot. Additionally, it has a backlit keyboard, a "no button" glass "inertial" multi-touch trackpad, a "MagSafe 2" power adapter, and a sealed internal battery providing an estimated 9 hours of life. Compared to its predecessor, it features a slimmer housing, a more efficient "Fourth Generation" processor and architecture, longer battery life, and faster graphics, storage, Wi-Fi, and connectivity.
