MacBook Pro Retina Mid-2014 13"

The MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.6 13-Inch (Mid-2014 Retina Display) is powered by a 22 nm "Haswell" 2.6 GHz Intel "Core i5" processor (4278U), featuring dual independent cores on a single chip and a 3 MB shared L3 cache. It includes 8 GB of onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (upgradable to 16 GB at purchase, but not later), either 128 GB or 256 GB of PCIe-based flash storage, and an integrated Intel Iris 5100 graphics processor that shares system memory. This model also has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a high-resolution 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen 2560x1600 (227 ppi) "Retina" display, housed in a chassis weighing just under 3.5 pounds (1.57 kg). It does not have an internal optical drive.

Connectivity consists of 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two "Thunderbolt 2" ports, an HDMI port, an audio in/out port, and an SDXC card slot.

Additionally, it features a backlit keyboard, a "no button" glass "inertial" multi-touch trackpad, a "MagSafe 2" power adapter, and a sealed internal battery providing an estimated 9 hours of life.

Compared to the model it succeeded, this version is extremely similar, but offers a slightly faster processor, more standard RAM, and has some different identifiers.

The Mid-2014 13-inch MacBook Pro was considered a very subtle refresh of its excellent predecessor. It featured a minor speed bump to the Haswell processor and came standard with more RAM, which provided a slight performance edge. However, the core experience remained largely unchanged. It retained the brilliant Retina display, impressive all-day battery life, and fast PCIe-based storage that made the Late 2013 model so popular. The design, port selection, and keyboard were identical to the previous version. Reviewers generally saw it as a solid, if unexciting, update that kept the 13-inch Pro competitive, but it didn't offer a compelling reason for owners of the 2013 model to upgrade.
