The Apple iMac G3/450 DV+ (Summer 2000) is equipped with a 450 MHz PowerPC 750 (G3) processor with a 512k backside level 2 cache. It includes 64 MB of RAM, a 20.0 GB Ultra ATA hard drive, a 4X slot-loading DVD-ROM drive, and ATI Rage 128 Pro (AGP 2X) graphics with 8 MB of VRAM. The system, featuring Harmon-Kardon sound and Firewire "400" ports, is housed in a translucent "indigo", "ruby", or "sage" (pictured) all-in-one chassis with a 15-inch CRT display.
This model is similar to the concurrently released iMac G3/400 DV (Summer 2000), but it was offered in "sage" green in addition to "indigo" and "ruby," and featured a faster processor, a larger hard drive (20.0 GB), and a DVD-ROM drive instead of a CD-ROM. It also resembles the iMac G3/400 DV (Slot Loading) it replaced, but with different case colors, a larger hard drive (20.0 GB vs. 10.0 GB), and a slightly better video processor with the same VRAM. The "Summer 2000" models also upgraded the unpopular Apple USB Keyboard and "hockey puck" mouse to the Apple Pro Keyboard and Mouse.
Apple designated this line as the "Summer 2000" series, referencing summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
