The iMac "Core i5" 3.2 27-Inch Aluminum (Retina 5K, Late 2015/Skylake) is powered by a 14-nm "Skylake" Quad Core 3.2 GHz Intel "Core i5" processor (6500), which contains four independent cores on a single chip and a 6 MB shared level 3 cache. It comes equipped with 8 GB of 1867 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (PC3-14900) in a dual-module configuration, storage options of either a 1 TB (7200 RPM) hard drive or a 1 TB "Fusion Drive," and an AMD Radeon R9 M380 or M390 graphics processor with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory. It also integrates a "FaceTime HD" webcam and stereo speakers.
This model boasts a 27-inch 5120x2880 LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS DCI-P3 "Retina 5K" display. The aluminum rear enclosure is thicker in the middle, tapering to a razor-thin 5 mm at the edges. Connectivity includes four USB 3.0 ports, dual Thunderbolt 2 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n compatible), and Bluetooth 4.0.
In comparison to its predecessor, this model maintains the same external design but introduces a superior DCI-P3 "Retina 5K" display with a wider color gamut, alongside a more advanced processor and graphics architecture. The "Late 2015" iMac models were bundled with a compact aluminum Apple Magic Keyboard and offered a choice between a multi-touch "Magic Mouse 2" or a traditional wired Apple mouse. For an additional US$50, an upgrade to the "Magic Trackpad 2" was available, providing multi-touch and pressure-sensitive "Force Touch" capabilities.
