MacBook Pro Retina Mid-2015 15"

The MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.2 15-Inch (Integrated Graphics/Iris Only/Force Touch - Mid-2015 Retina Display) is powered by a 22 nm "Haswell/Crystalwell" 2.2 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (4770HQ). It has four independent cores on a single chip, a 6 MB shared L3 cache, 16 GB of onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (not upgradable later), and 256 GB of PCIe-based flash storage. Graphics are handled by an integrated Intel Iris 5200 Pro processor with 128 MB of "Crystalwell" embedded DRAM and shared system memory. It also includes an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a high-resolution 15.4-inch LED-backlit widescreen 2880x1800 (220 ppi) "Retina" display, all in a chassis weighing just under 4.5 pounds (2.04 kg). It lacks an internal optical drive.

Connectivity consists of 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two "Thunderbolt 2" ports, an HDMI port, an audio in/out port, and an SDXC card slot.

In addition, this model features a backlit keyboard, a new advanced "Force Touch" trackpad, a "MagSafe 2" power adapter, and a sealed internal battery providing an estimated 9 hours of life.

Compared to its forerunner, this model is practically identical but has faster flash storage, a higher-capacity battery, and a more advanced "Force Touch" trackpad. It also has some different identifiers.

The Mid-2015 15-inch base model MacBook Pro was celebrated as a refinement of a beloved design, marking the end of an era for its port selection. Its most significant upgrades were the introduction of the innovative Force Touch trackpad and substantially faster PCIe-based flash storage, which made the system feel even more responsive. While it retained the same Haswell processor and Iris Pro graphics as the previous year's model, the combination of the new trackpad, quicker storage, and excellent battery life made it a very compelling package. It was widely regarded as the peak of that particular MacBook Pro generation, valued for its powerful performance and a versatile array of ports before the controversial move to USB-C.
