The iMac "Core i5" 3.3 27-Inch Aluminum (Retina 5K, Late 2015/Skylake) is powered by a 14-nm "Skylake" Quad Core 3.3 GHz Intel "Core i5" processor (6600), which includes four independent cores on a single chip and a 6 MB shared level 3 cache. It is equipped with 8 GB of 1867 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (PC3-14900) installed in a dual-module setup, a 2 TB "Fusion Drive," and an AMD Radeon R9 M395 graphics processor with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory. It also integrates a "FaceTime HD" webcam and stereo speakers.
This model features a 27-inch 5120x2880 LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS DCI-P3 "Retina 5K" display. The aluminum rear housing is thicker at its center, tapering to a razor-thin 5 mm at the edges. Connectivity options comprise four USB 3.0 ports, dual Thunderbolt 2 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi (compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n), and Bluetooth 4.0.
When compared to its predecessor, this model shares the same external enclosure but is distinguished by a higher-quality DCI-P3 "Retina 5K" display with a wider color gamut, as well as a more advanced architecture and graphics. The "Late 2015" iMac models were shipped with a compact aluminum Apple Magic Keyboard and a choice of a multi-touch "Magic Mouse 2" or a traditional wired Apple mouse. For an additional US$50, users could also upgrade from the Magic Mouse 2 to the "Magic Trackpad 2," which offers multi-touch and pressure-sensitive "Force Touch" capabilities.
