The MacBook Air "Core 2 Duo" 2.13 13" (Late 2010) was first available as a "configure-to-order" option for the MacBook Air "Core 2 Duo" 1.86 13" (Late 2010), and was later sold as a standard configuration. With the exception of the processor, this model is identical to the MC504LL/A configuration of the MacBook Air "Core 2 Duo" 1.86 13" (Late 2010), both of which were shipped with 256 GB of flash storage.
The Apple MacBook Air "Core 2 Duo" 2.13 13" (Late 2010) is powered by a 2.13 GHz Intel "Core 2 Duo" processor (SL9600) with two independent processor "cores" on a single chip, a 6 MB on-chip shared level 2 cache, and a 1066 MHz frontside bus.
It features 2 GB of onboard 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (upgradable to 4 GB only at the time of purchase, although the MC905LL/A standard configuration came with 4 GB of RAM by default), 256 GB of flash storage, an NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256 MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory, an integrated "FaceTime" video camera, a non-backlit full-size keyboard, and a 13.3" widescreen TFT LED-backlit active-matrix "glossy" display (1440x900 native resolution) in a razor-thin (0.11-0.68 inch), 2.9-pound aluminum case.
Connectivity includes AirPort Extreme (802.11a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, an SD card slot, dual USB 2.0 ports, analog audio out, and video out capabilities (Mini DisplayPort) that support an external 30" display. It lacks internal Ethernet (an external adapter was available as a US$29 upgrade) and also lacks Firewire and optical audio in/out.
This model uses a completely new housing compared to earlier MacBook Air models—sans the "fold-down" ports door and featuring an "inertial" multitouch trackpad—and is also notable for its internal differences. Internally, it has onboard RAM and lacks an optical drive, just like its predecessors, but it also features flash storage that is not intended to be upgraded after purchase and multiple internal battery cells that are likewise not designed for replacement. Apple promoted that the flash storage enables this MacBook Air model to offer "instant on" responsiveness, up to 30 days of standby time, a thinner housing, and improved battery life.
