MacBook Pro Retina Early 2015 13"

The MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.7 13-Inch (Early 2015 Retina Display) is powered by a 14 nm "Broadwell" 2.7 GHz Intel "Core i5" processor (5257U), with dual independent cores on a single chip and a 3 MB shared L3 cache. It includes 8 GB of onboard 1866 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (upgradable to 16 GB at purchase, but not later), and by default, 128 GB or 256 GB of 4-Lane PCIe-based flash storage (only 128 GB by default from Oct 27, 2016). It also features an integrated Intel Iris Graphics 6100 processor sharing system memory, a 720p FaceTime HD webcam, and a high-resolution 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen 2560x1600 (227 ppi) "Retina" display, all in a chassis weighing just under 3.5 pounds (1.58 kg). It lacks an internal optical drive.

Connectivity comprises 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two "Thunderbolt 2" ports, an HDMI port, an audio in/out port, and an SDXC card slot.

Additionally, this model has a backlit keyboard, an innovative haptic-capable "Force Touch" trackpad, and a sealed internal battery providing an estimated 10 to 12 hours of use.

Compared to its predecessor, this model appears nearly identical externally but features a more advanced processor and architecture, a more capable graphics processor, faster RAM, a quicker SSD, and a higher-capacity battery, along with the advanced "Force Touch" trackpad.

The Early 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro was widely acclaimed for introducing the innovative Force Touch trackpad, which used haptic feedback to simulate clicks and offered new pressure-sensitive gestures. Internally, the move to Intel's Broadwell processors and faster flash storage provided a tangible performance boost and further extended the already excellent battery life. The faster Intel Iris 6100 graphics also delivered improved graphical capabilities over the previous generation. While the external design remained unchanged from the 2012 model, the combination of the new trackpad, enhanced performance, and outstanding battery life solidified its position as a top-tier ultraportable laptop, and it was often regarded as one of the best MacBook Pro models ever made.
