At a glance, the iPod touch 6th Gen models might be mistaken for the previous 5th Gen, but internally, the 6th Gen is a significantly different device.
The iPod touch 6th Gen models each feature a 4" widescreen multi-touch IPS "retina" display (1136x640, 326 ppi) and dual cameras: an 8-megapixel rear "iSight" camera with LED flash capable of 1080p video, and a 1.2-megapixel front "FaceTime HD" 720p camera. They support Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, in addition to the expected AirPlay, Siri, music, photo, video, and iOS app functionality.
Internally, this model is driven by a 1.1 GHz dual-core A8 processor, has 1 GB of RAM, and was available with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, or 128 GB of flash storage. Apple's estimated battery life is 40 hours of music playback and 8 hours of video playback.
The iPod touch 6th Gen models use aluminum "unibody" cases offered in six colors: a dark "space gray," gold, silver, hot pink, blue, and red. The "space gray" version has a black glass front, while the other five colors have white glass fronts.
