The "Late 2007" colored iPod shuffle (Second Generation) models are fundamentally the same as the preceding "Early 2007/Colors" lineup, with the primary difference being the color of their housings. The Late 2007 versions were available in light blue, light green, purple, and silver, along with a "Special Edition (PRODUCT) RED". This contrasts with the darker blue, orange, green, and pink of the models they replaced, though silver was common to both. Physically, these iPod shuffle models are otherwise identical.
All iPod shuffle (Second Generation) models feature a compact case measuring 1.07 inches tall, 0.98 inches wide, and 0.33 inches deep, which includes a built-in clip for easy attachment to clothing. These models omitted the integrated USB port of the first generation, opting instead for a headphone jack that handled audio output, music syncing, and charging via a small USB dock.
The Late 2007 iPod shuffle models came with either 1 GB or 2 GB (the latter starting February 19, 2008) of flash memory, holding 240 or 500 songs, respectively. Apple estimated the battery life at 12 hours.
