Overview

Be aware that this A2223 iPhone 11 model supports FDD-LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30, 66, and 71, in addition to TD-LTE bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, and 48. However, it does not support bands 14, 21, 28, 32, and 71. This device is exclusively retailed in mainland China and Hong Kong. While technically compatible with carriers in nearly all countries, it does not support Apple SIM or eSIM.

Every iPhone 11 model features a 6.1-inch (diagonal) LCD "Liquid Retina HD" display with haptic-touch capabilities (1792x828, 326 ppi, 1400:1 contrast ratio), covering almost the entire front of the device. It is equipped with three cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, located in the "notch," not only facilitates "Advanced Face ID" authentication but also captures 12-megapixel photos, records 4K video, and offers software features like Portrait mode and Portrait Lighting. The rear of the phone houses dual 12-megapixel, 4K video-capable cameras: an Ultra Wide (f/2.4 aperture, 120-degree field of view) and a Wide (f/1.8 aperture) camera. On top of the HDR and portrait mode enhancements from previous iPhones, the iPhone 11 introduces a Night Mode.

The iPhone 11 features a "low-carbon" aluminum frame with glass on both the front and back. It is rated IP68 for splash, water, and dust resistance, withstanding a maximum depth of 2 meters for up to 30 minutes. It comes in six color choices: white, black, (pastel) green, (pastel) yellow, (pastel) purple, and (PRODUCT) RED.

Inside, the iPhone 11 is driven by a 64-bit, 7 nm 2.66 GHz "Apple A13 Bionic" processor with six cores (two performance and four high-efficiency) and a "third-generation Neural Engine." It includes 4 GB of RAM and is available with 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of flash storage (the 256 GB version was discontinued on September 14, 2021). Connectivity options include 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, Gigabit-class LTE with 2x2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, Ultra Wideband for "spatial awareness," NFC for Apple Pay, and "Express Cards with power reserve" for select transit systems. This A2223 model supports dual hardware nano SIMs.

Apple's official estimates for the iPhone 11 battery life are "up to" 65 hours of audio playback, 17 hours of video playback, and 10 hours of streamed video. It also supports Qi-compatible "wireless" (inductive) charging.

Upon its release in mainland China, the pricing was RMB 5,499 for 64 GB, RMB 5,999 for 128 GB, and RMB 6,799 for 256 GB. In Hong Kong, the initial prices were HK$5,999, HK$6,499, and HK$7,299, respectively.

On October 13, 2020, Apple reduced the prices for these models to RMB 4,799, RMB 5,299, and RMB 6,099 in mainland China, and to HK$5,199, HK$5,699, and HK$6,499 in Hong Kong.

On September 14, 2021, Apple discontinued the 256 GB model and lowered the prices of the 64 GB and 128 GB models to RMB 3,999 and RMB 4,399 in mainland China, and HK$4,299 and HK$4,799 in Hong Kong. Trade-in discounts and various carrier payment plans were also available.

Finally, the iPhone 11 was discontinued by Apple on September 7, 2022.

Evaluation

The iPhone 11 delivered exceptional value when released in 2019, earning widespread praise from tech reviewers for its outstanding camera improvements and competitive pricing strategy. Professional reviews consistently highlighted the significant battery life enhancements over the iPhone XR, with most users experiencing a full day of heavy usage without compromise. The dual-camera system with Night mode revolutionized low-light photography capabilities, while the A13 Bionic processor provided flagship-level performance at a more accessible price point than premium competitors.
