Overview

Be aware that this A2483 iPhone 13 Pro supports 5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n28, n29, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n71, n77, n78, and n79, along with 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. This device is designed for carriers in the United States but is technically functional with carriers worldwide.

All iPhone 13 Pro models have a 6.1-inch (diagonal) haptic-touch "Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion" (2532x1170, 460 ppi, 120Hz refresh rates) that covers nearly the entire front. It contains four cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, located in the "notch," supports Face ID, captures 12-megapixel photos, and records 4K video. The rear features a 4K-capable "pro 12 megapixel camera system" with Telephoto (f/2.8), Wide (f/1.5), and Ultra Wide (f/1.8, 120-degree field of view) lenses.

In comparison to previous models, the iPhone 13 Pro's rear camera system boasts larger sensors that deliver reduced noise, faster shutter speeds, and improved low-light performance, while also adding macro support. It also features "Sensor-shift OIS" for enhanced stabilization. These cameras support a new "Cinematic mode" with simulated depth of field (1080p, 30 fps) and compatibility with the "ProRes" codec (1080p at 30 fps for the 128 GB model, and 4K at 30 fps for larger capacities).

The iPhone 13 Pro is built with a stainless steel case and flat sides, with a glass front and back. The front is protected by a durable "Ceramic Shield" cover, and the back has an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connection. It is IP68-rated for splash, water, and dust resistance (up to 6 meters for 30 minutes). Originally sold in four colors—graphite, gold, silver, and "Sierra Blue"—a fifth color, "Alpine Green," was added on March 8, 2022.

Internally, the iPhone 13 Pro is powered by a 3.2 GHz "Apple A15 Bionic" processor with a six-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, Ultra Wideband for "spatial awareness," NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve," and dual SIMs (one physical nano SIM and one software-based eSIM or dual eSIMs).

Apple's battery life estimates for the iPhone 13 Pro are "up to" 75 hours of audio playback, 22 hours of video playback, and 20 hours of streamed video.

In the US, this specific iPhone 13 Pro was initially priced at US$999, US$1099, US$1299, and US$1499 for the 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB models, respectively. It was also available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon for monthly payments starting as low as US$41.62, US$45.79, US$54.12, and US$62.45 with a two-year contract. Trade-in discounts were also available. This model was discontinued on September 7, 2022.

Evaluation

The iPhone 13 Pro A2483 represented Apple's definitive professional smartphone achievement for the US market, receiving universal acclaim from photography professionals and tech reviewers for its revolutionary ProRes video recording capabilities and mmWave 5G integration. Camera experts from DPReview and PetaPixel praised the device's ability to record cinema-quality 4K ProRes video directly to the device, transforming mobile filmmaking workflows for content creators. The inclusion of all three US carrier mmWave bands (n258, n260, n261) ensured optimal 5G performance across AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile networks, while the 120Hz ProMotion display provided unprecedented smoothness for professional video editing applications.
