Developed specifically for the mainland China market and released in collaboration with China Unicom, the iPhone 3G (China/No Wi-Fi), model A1324, is identical to the 8 GB version of the worldwide iPhone 3G, with the key exception that it lacks Wi-Fi functionality.
Similar to the global iPhone 3G, this China-specific model integrates the capabilities of a mobile phone, an iPod, and an Internet device, along with GPS functionality.
It sports a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 320x480 at 163 ppi and features a black plastic back, 8 GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and an integrated 2.0-megapixel camera that supports geotagging.
Apple specifies that the China-only iPhone 3G delivers up to 24 hours of audio playback, 10 hours of 2G talk time, 5 hours of 3G talk time, 5 hours of 3G internet browsing, 7 hours of video playback, and a standby time of 300 hours.
The China-exclusive iPhone 3G also incorporates the same "multi-touch" interface and sensors—accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity—as its global counterpart.
