Overview

It is important to know that this "GSM" A1522 iPhone 6 Plus model, supporting LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, and 29, is designed for the North American market. This includes carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, Bell, Rogers, Telus and their affiliates in Canada, and Telcel in Mexico.

All iPhone 6 Plus models (sometimes called iPhone 6+ by users), regardless of network support, feature a 5.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch IPS LED-backlit "Retina HD" display with a 1920x1080 resolution (401 ppi). They are equipped with dual cameras: a rear 8-megapixel, 1080p "iSight" camera with 1.5-micron pixels, an f/2.2 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization, and "autofocus with Focus Pixels" (phase detection), plus a front 1.2-megapixel, 720p "FaceTime" camera.

The iPhone 6 Plus was sold in three metallic finishes: "silver" (white front, silver back), "gold" (white front, gold back), and "space" gray (black front, medium gray back). Each model has a "unibody" design with rounded sides, similar to the 5th Gen iPod touch, but with glass that curves at the edges for a seamless feel. It also includes the "Touch ID" fingerprint sensor in the home button.

This iPhone 6 Plus model is driven by a 1.4 GHz 64-bit "Apple A8" processor, has 1 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and was available with 16 GB, 64 GB, or 128 GB of storage. It supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0/4.2, LTE (4G), and NFC for Apple Pay. A bottom-mounted headphone jack and a "Lightning" port are included.

Apple's battery estimates for the iPhone 6 Plus are up to 80 hours of audio, 24 hours of 3G talk time, 12 hours of internet use on 3G or LTE, 12 hours on Wi-Fi, 14 hours of video, and 384 hours of standby.

In the US, this "GSM" A1522 iPhone 6 Plus was initially sold locked and subsidized by AT&T with 16 GB, 64 GB, or 128 GB of storage for US$299, US$399, or US$499, respectively, on a two-year contract. The unlocked, contract-free version (with a T-Mobile Nano SIM) was priced at US$749, US$849, or US$949. On September 9, 2015, Apple retired the gold color and 128 GB options and lowered prices for the remaining 16/64 GB models to US$199/US$299 with a contract or US$649/US$749 unlocked. The model was fully discontinued on September 7, 2016.
