Every iPhone 14 model is equipped with a 6.1-inch (diagonal) haptic-touch enabled "Super Retina XDR" display (2532x1170, 460 ppi) that covers nearly the entire front. It has three cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, located in the "notch," supports Face ID, has an f/1.9 aperture, captures 12-megapixel photos, and records 4K video. The rear features a dual-camera system with 12-megapixel, 4K-capable Main (f/1.5 aperture) and Ultra Wide (f/2.4 aperture, 120-degree field of view) cameras. Apple highlights these cameras as supporting a new "Photonic Engine" for improved low-light performance. The rear cameras also introduce a new "Action mode" for better motion correction and an enhanced "Cinematic mode" with a simulated depth effect that now supports 4K (30 fps, 24 fps).
The iPhone 14 features an aluminum case with flat sides and a glass front and back. The front is protected by a durable "Ceramic Shield" cover, and the back includes an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connection. It is IP68-rated for splash, water, and dust resistance (up to 6 meters for 30 minutes). Initially available in five colors—(pale) Blue, (pale) Purple, "Midnight" (black), "Starlight" (warm gray), and (PRODUCT) RED—a sixth color, Yellow, was added on March 7, 2023.
Internally, the iPhone 14 is powered by a 3.2 GHz "Apple A15 Bionic" processor with a six-core CPU (two performance, four efficiency), a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, Ultra Wideband for "spatial awareness," NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve," and dual hardware nano-SIMs (eSIM is not supported).
