Overview

It is important to know that this A2634 iPhone 13 supports 5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n28, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n77, n78, and n79. It does not support 5G NR bands n29 (700d MHz) and n71 (600 MHz), nor 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. This model is intended for carriers in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, but is technically functional with carriers worldwide. Unlike other iPhone 13 models, it does not have eSIM capability and instead supports dual hardware nano-SIMs.

All iPhone 13 models have a 6.1-inch (diagonal) haptic-touch enabled "Super Retina XDR" display (2532x1170, 460 ppi) that covers nearly the entire front. It contains three cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, located in the "notch," supports Face ID, captures 12-megapixel photos, and records 4K video. The rear features a dual-camera system with 12-megapixel, 4K-capable Ultra Wide (f/2.4 aperture, 120-degree field of view) and Wide (f/1.6 aperture) cameras. Apple states that the Ultra Wide camera's new sensor delivers more detail and less noise, while the Wide camera includes "Sensor-shift OIS" for improved stabilization. These cameras also feature a new "Cinematic mode" with a simulated depth effect (1080p, 30 fps).

The iPhone 13 is constructed with an aluminum case with flat sides and a glass front and back. The front is protected by a "Ceramic Shield" cover for durability, and the back has an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connection. It is IP68-rated for splash, water, and dust resistance (up to 6 meters for 30 minutes). Initially available in five colors—a warm gray (Starlight), "Midnight" (black), blue, (pale) pink, and (PRODUCT) RED—a sixth color, Green, was added on March 8, 2022.

Internally, the iPhone 13 is powered by a 3.2 GHz "Apple A15 Bionic" processor with six cores (two performance, four efficiency) and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, Ultra Wideband for "spatial awareness," NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve," and the aforementioned dual nano SIMs.

Apple's battery life estimates for the iPhone 13 are "up to" 75 hours of audio playback, 19 hours of video playback, and 15 hours of streamed video.

In mainland China, this iPhone 13 was originally priced at RMB 5999, 6799, and 8399 for 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB of storage, respectively. It was also offered for monthly payments of RMB 250, 283, and 350.

On September 7, 2022, Apple lowered the price of this iPhone 13 to RMB 5399, 6299, and 8099 for full payment, or RMB 225, 262, and 337 for monthly payments over two years.

Finally, on September 12, 2023, Apple reduced the price of this model to RMB 4699, 5699, and 7699 for full payment, or RMB 196, 237, and 321 for monthly payments over two years. Trade-in discounts were also available. It was discontinued on September 9, 2024.

Evaluation

The iPhone 13 A2634 distinguished itself as a unique connectivity champion among tech reviewers, earning particular recognition for being the only iPhone 13 variant supporting dual physical nano-SIM functionality. Professional evaluations emphasized this model's practical advantages for business travelers and users managing multiple phone numbers, while the device's China-specific optimizations received praise from regional technology publications. The absence of eSIM capability was viewed as a conscious design choice rather than a limitation, with most reviewers acknowledging the preference for physical SIM cards in Chinese markets and the enhanced flexibility for international roaming scenarios.
