Overview

Kindly note that this A2849 iPhone 15 Pro Max is compatible with 5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n14, n20, n25, n26, n28, n29, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n53, n66, n70, n71, n75, n76, n77, n78, and n79, in addition to 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261 (which are exclusive to this model). It is designed for carriers in the United States and Puerto Rico but is technically functional with global carriers that support eSIM, as it lacks a hardware nano-SIM slot.

All iPhone 15 Pro Max models are equipped with a 6.7-inch (diagonal) haptic-touch enabled "Super Retina XDR display" with ProMotion (2796x1290, 460 ppi, 120Hz refresh rates) that covers nearly the entire front of the device. It has four cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, housed in the "Dynamic Island," supports Face ID, captures 12-megapixel photos, and shoots 4K video. The rear features a "Pro camera system" with a 48-megapixel "Main" camera, a 12-megapixel "Ultra Wide" camera, and a 12-megapixel "5X Telephoto" camera (tetraprism, 120 mm). The camera system also introduces a new 24-megapixel "super-high-resolution" default, enables users to choose between three common focal lengths (24 mm, 28 mm, and 35 mm), and supports 48-megapixel HEIF images for 4x higher resolution than previous models.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a case made from "aerospace-grade" Titanium with contoured edges over an aluminum "substructure," and a glass front and back. The front is protected by a "Ceramic Shield" cover, while the back includes an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connector. It is IP68-rated for splash, water, and dust resistance (up to 6 meters for 30 minutes). It is available in four subdued "Titanium" color options: Natural, Blue, White, and Black.

Internally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is driven by a 3.78 GHz "Apple A17 Pro" processor, featuring a six-core CPU (two performance and four efficiency cores), a 6-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, "hardware-accelerated ray tracing," and a "dedicated AV1 decoder" for more efficient video streaming. It comes with 8 GB of RAM and is available with 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6E, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, Thread networking, second-generation Ultra Wideband, NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve" for compatible transit systems, Crash Detection, Emergency SOS and Roadside Assistance via satellite, a USB-C port, a new "Action" button that replaces the previous ring/silent switch, and dual eSIM functionality (it does not support physical SIM cards).

Apple's battery life estimates for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are up to 95 hours of audio playback, 29 hours of video playback, and 25 hours of streamed video playback.

In the US, this particular iPhone 15 Pro Max was initially priced starting at US$1199, US$1399, and US$1599 for the 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options, respectively. It was also offered on a two-year financed contract with monthly payments starting at US$49.95, US$58.29, and US$66.62.
