Be aware that this A2644 iPhone 13 Pro Max supports 5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n28, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n77, n78, and n79. It does not support 5G NR bands n29 (700d MHz) and n71 (600 MHz), nor 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. This device is designed for carriers in mainland China (and likely Hong Kong and Macau), but it is technically functional with carriers worldwide. Unlike other iPhone 13 Pro Max models, it lacks eSIM capability and instead uses dual hardware nano-SIMs.
All iPhone 13 Pro Max models have a 6.7-inch (diagonal) haptic-touch enabled "Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion" (2778x1284, 458 ppi, 120Hz refresh rates) that covers almost the entire front. It has four cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, located in the "notch," supports Face ID, captures 12-megapixel photos, and records 4K video. The rear is equipped with a 4K-capable "pro 12 megapixel camera system" with Telephoto (f/2.8), Wide (f/1.5), and Ultra Wide (f/1.8, 120-degree field of view) lenses.
In contrast to its predecessors, the iPhone 13 Pro Max's rear camera system has larger sensors that reduce noise, allow for faster shutter speeds, and improve low-light photography, while also adding macro support. It also features "Sensor-shift OIS" for enhanced stabilization. These cameras support a "Cinematic mode" with simulated depth of field (1080p, 30 fps) and compatibility with the "ProRes" codec (1080p at 30 fps for the 128 GB model, and 4K at 30 fps for larger capacities).
The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a stainless steel case with flat sides and a glass front and back. The front is protected by a durable "Ceramic Shield" cover, and the back has an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connection. It is IP68-rated for splash, water, and dust resistance (up to 6 meters for 30 minutes). Originally available in four colors—graphite, gold, silver, and "Sierra Blue"—a fifth color, "Alpine Green," was added on March 8, 2022.
Internally, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is powered by a 3.2 GHz "Apple A15 Bionic" processor with a six-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, Ultra Wideband for "spatial awareness," NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve," and the aforementioned dual nano-SIMs.
Apple's battery life estimates for the iPhone 13 Pro Max are "up to" 95 hours of audio playback, 28 hours of video playback, and 25 hours of streamed video.
In mainland China, this iPhone 13 Pro Max was initially priced at RMB 8999, RMB 9799, RMB 11,399, and RMB 12,999 for the 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB models, respectively. Monthly payment plans were also reportedly available starting from RMB 375. Trade-in discounts were offered. This model was discontinued on September 7, 2022.
