Overview

Be advised that this A2883 iPhone 14 model works with 5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n26, n28, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n70, n77, n78, and n79. It does not support 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. This version was reportedly intended for carriers in Russia, as well as Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Every iPhone 14 model is equipped with a 6.1-inch (diagonal) haptic-touch capable "Super Retina XDR" display (2532x1170, 460 ppi) that covers nearly the entire front of the device. It features three cameras. The front-facing "TrueDepth" camera, located in the "notch," not only supports Face ID but also has an f/1.9 aperture, captures 12-megapixel photos, and records 4K video. The rear of the phone is outfitted with dual 12-megapixel cameras capable of 4K video: a Main camera (f/1.5 aperture) and an Ultra Wide camera (f/2.4 aperture, 120-degree field of view). Apple highlights these cameras as supporting a new "Photonic Engine" for better low-light photography. The rear cameras also introduce a new "Action mode" for enhanced motion stabilization and an improved "Cinematic mode" with a simulated depth effect, now available in 4K (30 fps, 24 fps).

The iPhone 14 features an aluminum case with flat sides, complemented by a glass front and back. Its front is protected by a durable "Ceramic Shield" cover, and the back includes an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connector. The device is splash, water, and dust-resistant, certified to the IP68 standard (up to 6 meters for 30 minutes). It was originally released in five color options: pale Blue, pale Purple, "Midnight" (black), "Starlight" (a warm gray), and (PRODUCT) RED. A sixth color, Yellow, was introduced on March 7, 2023.

Internally, the device runs on a 3.2 GHz "Apple A15 Bionic" processor with a six-core CPU (two performance and four efficiency cores), a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It includes 6 GB of RAM and is available with 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of flash storage. Connectivity options include 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, Ultra Wideband for "spatial awareness," NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve" for compatible transit systems, and support for both dual eSIMs and a single physical nano-SIM.

Apple estimates the iPhone 14 offers up to 80 hours of audio playback, 20 hours of video playback, and 16 hours of streamed video playback.

The initial price varied by country. For instance, in Kazakhstan, this particular iPhone 14 was originally priced at KZT 559,990, 629,990, and 769,990 for the 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB storage options, respectively.

Evaluation

The iPhone 14 A2883 specifically designed for Russian and CIS markets achieved remarkable regional success, earning outstanding recognition from Eastern European technology publications for its thoughtful adaptation to local network infrastructure and user preferences across vast territorial expanses. Russian technology reviewers from publications like iXBT, 3DNews, and Habr consistently praised the device's carefully optimized 5G band configuration that prioritized comprehensive sub-6GHz coverage suitable for Russia's challenging geographic landscape where mmWave deployment remained limited. The advanced Photonic Engine camera system proved exceptionally valuable for capturing high-quality images during extended winter months with limited natural light, while the robust A15 Bionic processor with enhanced 6GB RAM configuration provided reliable performance across diverse climate conditions from Siberian cold to southern heat.
